Guest access
Guests will enjoy exclusive access to the entire home and private property throughout their stay, including all indoor and outdoor amenities. The Berkwell is designed to be your own private retreat, with no shared spaces. Parking is available for 8 vehicles. Please note that there is one utility space and a storage closet on the lower level that are locked and reserved for housekeeping and maintenance.

Other things to note

Dogs: Up to two dogs are welcome. The fee per dog is $75/dog. Please include your dogs when making your reservation. We have a few requirements for dogs at the property:

-Please clean up after your pets and help us keep the property enjoyable for future guests. Dog waste bags and towels are provided at the front door to wipe paws.
- Dogs should not be left unattended at the property, and dogs are not to be off leash on the property.
- Please keep pets off the furniture and beds, or use your own protective covers if they are accustomed to being on furniture.
- Please note that cats are not permitted due to the owner's allergy.

Wildlife: The Berkwell sits on private wooded acreage, so you may see local wildlife such as deer, wild turkeys, raccoons, squirrels, birds, and other native animals during your stay. Please keep all food and trash indoors and take any excess trash to our locked trash receptacle at the bottom of the driveway. The home is professionally treated for insects on a regular basis. As the property is nestled in a wooded setting, you may occasionally encounter insects, wildlife, leaves, or other natural elements. Our cleaning team takes great care to prepare the home and tidy all outdoor spaces before each stay.

Speaking of wildlife, part of the beauty of Wild and Wonderful West Virginia is being surrounded by nature and rural land. During hunting season, you may occasionally hear distant hunting activity from neighboring properties or surrounding areas. Hunting and firearms are not permitted on The Berkwell property.

Security: There are 2 external cameras, a camera doorbell, and a sound monitoring device that measures decibel levels (but no sound recording). None of the cameras are pointing toward the wellness area (hot tub and sauna).

Potential Road Noise: The home is conveniently located near WV Route 522. Because of its hillside setting, you may occasionally hear some road noise.
